Encourage Education welcomes blog, otherwise known as website articles from all guest readers.  In cyberspace articles, essays, narratives, and missives are known as "diaries."

  • To learn Scripting techniques please travel through Scripting with Style.
  • When you, a revered user chooses to publish a "dairy" this action is referred to as "posting."

To post, publish, make your thoughts public [for now, visible only to invited guests] please login.

Once logged in select "New Diary" from the far right column on the front page.  A new page will be provided.  Here you can write.  Please be forewarned, in the world of technology, unknown and unexpected occurrences are frequent.  You may wish to word process your document first.  Save it!    Then, copy and paste your work into the text boxes easily.  Then life will be good. Nothing will be lost accidentally.

Please begin with an informative title.  With words of wisdom, invite your readers to peruse the content.

The "Main Text" section of a diary should be about two to three paragraphs long.  This field is required.  A photograph or pictorial image may be included.  Please review, "Posting a Photograph" for those instructions.

The "Extended Text" section is optional, as is the poll.  If your essay is long, all but the introductory, "Main Text" paragraphs need to be placed in the "Extended Text" box.

Descriptive "tags" are also necessary.  When thinking of tags, remember the "card catalog" in the local library.

"Tags" help others find your "diary" when searching the site.  Tags are subject identifiers.  Typically, they are a single word.  A tag specifies the theme of your "diary." A term that best describes the subject or genre of your writing works well.  Please do not use sentences or "clever" words as tags.

Once you have placed all your entries, you may wish to preview you post.  A preview will allow you to view your writing as it will appear on the site once saved.

Please scroll down below the title, tags, and text boxes. Then click the Preview button. If all appears as you wish it to be, then select "Save."  Your work will appear on the page, solidly stationed.

You can edit your diary after it is published.  To do so, return to your work and you will see an "Edit Diary" option below the title.  Choose that link and edit your work.  Polls cannot be edited once they are published.

Please do not repeat a diary.

Please host any images in your posts at an image hosting service such as imageshack.us, photobucket.com, flickr.com, smugmug.com, allyoucanupload.com, picturetrail.com, mac.com, webshots.com, editgrid.com.

Copying and pasting entire copyrighted works is prohibited. If you do quote something, please be brief, always provide a link to the original source, and use the < blockquote > code to clearly identify the quoted material. [Please recall, when actually using the code, remove the spaces before and after the word "blockquote".  The spaces allow you, the reader, to see the code.  If the spaces are eliminated, the script functions as hypertext.]

Violating copyright laws is not only rude; it is illegal!  Any article that infringes on these laws will be removed.

Please be civil. Do not write diaries intended to inflame others.

Be Kind. For everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle. ~ Plato
